UN Staffers Demand Those Mentioned Step Aside As Body Admits Racism Has Been Institutionalized In The Organization

The staff are asking if they can speak out given the circumstances. More staffers are calling on the Government, African Leaders to intervene because the leadership has been concealing these things and have failed to do anything for the past 6 years and counting.

Dear Colleagues, I am pleased to share with you the first newsletter from the Task Force. It contains updates on activities undertaken so far, upcoming events and how you can get involved in creating an anti-racist workplace. The Task Force has also set up a feedback form where you can share suggestions, questions, and concerns. I encourage each and every one of you to participate in the events and dialogues that are being organized, including those by the Office of the Ombudsman and Mediation Services. It is a time in our shared history to pause, reflect and discuss openly and without judgement how racism has been institutionalized in our Organization. Let’s not be afraid to acknowledge this ugly truth, and let’s work together to understand it, and see how we can address it in all that we do.
