PHOTO CAPTION: Michael Gumo during a past media interview Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has today unveiled his 10-member cabinet, which will now proceed for vetting by the City County Assembly.

He submitted the list to the Speaker of the County Assembly in a letter dated October 26, 2022.

While unveiling the cabinet, Sakaja sent home all members of the executive serving his predecessor, Anne Kananu's administration, except two.

One appointment that caught the eye of many Kenyans is that of city politician Michael Gumo, a son of former Cabinet Minister Fred Gumo, who was selected to lead the Innovation and Digital Economy docket.

Mike, who shelved his ambitions to become Westlands MP in favour of Tim Wanyonyi, is known to love the finer things in life and often flashes his family's wealth on social media.

From trips to exotic locations to expensive, exquisite drinks, and a collection of flashy cars; his Instagram account clearly tells it all.

The man knows how to have a good time and lives a life many can only dream of. Sakaja also appointed Suzanne Silantoi to head the Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service ministry.

Silantoi contested against Sakaja in the 2017 Nairobi county senatorial race.

In addition, he appointed David Njoroge as his Chief of Staff and Priscillah Mahinda as Private Secretary.

Dr Jairus Musumba was nominated for the position of County Secretary.

The first-time governor noted that he changed the names and mandates of the dockets for better service delivery.

He explained that the Boroughs, Administration, and Personnel and the Business, as well as the Hutsler Opportunities CECs will report directly to his deputy, Njoroge Muchiri.
