Partners in Crime: John Mwaka, CEO SASRA (Left) & Ms. Mary Mungai, Commissioner for Cooperative Development

The new Commissioner of Cooperatives is Didacus Ityeng, at least in an acting capacity.

Didacus takes over from rogue Commissioner of Cooperatives Ms. Mary Mungai who now retires to go and enjoy the loot.

Mary Mungai and Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) CEO John Mwaka are alleged to have aided in the plunder and looting of Kenyan Saccos.

We've covered this story and that of Saccos which have now been I vaded by cartels who have turned the once great sector into a cash cow tottering on the brink of collapse.

We hope that they'll be changes at the Commissioner of Cooperatives office.

The first thing that Mr. Didacus should do is to fire SASRA CEO who was a stooge of Mary Mungai.

Change must happen in this critical sector.

SASRA must uphold its mandate to regulate and supervise Saccos. PS State Department for Cooperatives Ali Noor Ismail, CBS (Right) witnessed the handing over of Mary Mungai the outgoing Commission for Cooperatives Development, to Didacus O. Ityeng' who takes over the docket in an acting capacity || 28th March 2018
