What is in the mind of man, only he and God know. This because what is in the mind is not what comes out of the mouth and what comes out of the mouth is not what is in the mind. This is even truer of politicians. It is a dark side of politics that William Ruto is discovering neither too early nor too late in his political career. Even as he puts on a brave face and tells off those plotting for his downfall through the ICC case that they will never succeed, a list of names of prominent politicians and businessmen purportedly wishing that he is jailed is in circulation. The list, whose author is anonymous for now, reads like who is who in the country’s political terrain. It was Ruto himself who went public to declare that there are politicians who are praying day and night that he is jailed. Without mincing words, he singled out politicians from his Kalenjin backyard who are his perceived political nemesis.
