Mediamax has dismissed as fake a circulating notice claiming that Kameme FM would be shut down for 30 days. The notice, which had been widely shared online, claimed that the Kikuyu-language station would go off air from Thursday, June 18, following an alleged show-cause notice from the Media Council of Kenya and an internal editorial review by Mediamax. Through Kameme FM’s official social media pages, Mediamax flagged the notice as fake and made it clear that it had not sanctioned any closure of the station.
