Several people were injured and vehicles vandalized after a meeting involving Ronald Karauri’s team in Umoja II, Embakasi West, ended in chaos.
The engagement had brought together residents of Umoja II to discuss local concerns, frustrations and what they expect from leadership in the area. According to the update shared after the incident, the meeting had ended when the team came under attack.
The attackers allegedly vandalized several vehicles, including one belonging to Karauri’s team, while some of the people present were seriously injured during the chaos. Several mobile phones were also reportedly stolen during the confrontation.
The attack has been linked to goons allegedly sent by Gaucho and Obilo, identified in the statement as Robin Aresi and Felicien Obilo. Gaucho is also said to be serving in the Nairobi County Liquor Board.
Despite the violence, residents reportedly stepped in and protected Karauri’s team as the situation escalated. The response by residents was described as a sign that many Nairobians are increasingly tired of political intimidation and violence being used to disrupt public engagements.
The incident now raises fresh questions about the use of goons in Nairobi politics, especially during community meetings where residents are expected to air their views freely without threats, attacks or destruction of property.
