Hello Nyakundi Am a parent at Maliera secondary school in Siaya county gem subcounty. Last week our kids were sent back home due to an attempted arson in the school. Today the school is sending us letters that the boys to report back next week Monday with 2000ksh. As parents we are asking the criteria they used to charge us this amount if the culprits were arrested (17) students. Imagine a school population of 1800 each paying 2000 yet it's only 45 mattresses that were burnt. I think some principals have taken advantage of these unrest to milk money from parents yet we are really struggling to pay school fees
