Gor Mahia have been crowned FKF Premier League champions for the 2025/26 season, securing a record-extending 22nd league title in a dominant campaign that reaffirmed their status as Kenya’s most successful football club.
The coronation took place at Nyayo National Stadium, where celebrations erupted despite a 1-0 defeat to Nairobi United in their final match. The result did not dampen the mood as the team had already sealed the championship with two matches to spare after rivals AFC Leopards dropped crucial points earlier in the season.
The victory marks another successful chapter for the “Green Army,” who maintained consistent form throughout the campaign to finish comfortably at the top of the table. AFC Leopards settled for second place after failing to close the gap during the final stretch of the season.
At the bottom of the standings, Bidco United and Sofapaka were relegated after finishing 17th and 18th respectively, while Kariobangi Sharks will face a promotion/relegation playoff to determine their fate.
With the league title secured, Gor Mahia will now represent Kenya in next season’s CAF Champions League as they continue their quest for continental success.
