At 82 years old, Oburu Oginga has announced that he will defend his position as Senator of Siaya County in the 2027 General Election.

The veteran politician confirmed he is not stepping away from active politics despite his age, setting the stage for another high-stakes political battle in Siaya.

Oburu remains a senior figure in ODM politics and one of the longest-serving political voices in the Nyanza region.
