The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a public consultation process on a proposed electricity retail tariff application that will determine power prices for Kenyans over the next three years.
In a notice issued on Sunday, May 24, EPRA said the exercise, which was initially set to begin on Monday, May 25, has been postponed, with new dates to be communicated.
The review will guide electricity tariffs for the 2026/27 to 2028/29 control period and will directly influence charges by utilities such as Kenya Power and Lighting Company.
The application was submitted by Kenya Power on behalf of key sector players including KenGen, KETRACO, GDC and REREC.
EPRA said the process is anchored in the Energy Act and will involve stakeholder input before final tariff decisions are made for the next regulatory cycle.
