On April 28, 2020, Tottenham Hotspur announced its return to training, adhering to strict social distancing guidelines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Premier League club's statement, a limited number of pitches at their training centre will be made available for individual running sessions, with each player following a strict rotational basis.
Players will travel independently, arrive at the facilities dressed in training wear, and return home immediately after their session. All activities will be conducted in line with government guidelines, maintaining social distancing at all times.
Players were reminded of their responsibilities nearly three weeks prior, after some were spotted flouting social distancing rules. Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho was seen working with Tanguy Ndombele in a public park, while Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon were caught running side by side in Barnet, north London.
Serge Aurier later posted a video of him training with team-mate Moussa Sissoko, with the pair apologising for their earlier actions.
