On Thursday morning, officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested Bernard Njiriani, the managing director of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs).

According to EACC officers, Njiriani was taken to record a statement at their Integrity Centre headquarters over alleged failure to comply with EACC requests for information in an ongoing corruption investigation.

The investigation centers around bribery allegations at Kebs' procurement department, and EACC officers plan to charge Njiriani with the penal offence of failing to provide documents requested to aid in the investigation.
