COVID-19: Kenya Records 11 New Cases, Total Rises to 374

On April 28, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases surged to 374 after 11 new cases were reported in the country.

Health CAS Rashid Aman announced the new cases during the daily COVID-19 briefing, revealing that two children were among the 11 new cases.

The 11 new cases are aged between three years and 75 years, with seven cases reported in Nairobi and four in Mombasa.

The cases in Nairobi were from Kawangware (4), Kaloleni, Manji, and Eastleigh, while the four cases in Mombasa were from Kibokoni and Old Town.

Kenya also recorded 10 more recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 124, as CAS Aman said, "As we celebrate the recoveries, the number of cases in the country currently stands at 374 after another 11 tested positive in the last 24 hours."

The new cases were from a cluster of 589 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

During the briefing, CAS Aman also clarified that no eateries or restaurants have been given permission to reopen, citing the need for compliance with the Ministry of Health's guidelines.
