As Kenya's economy struggles to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, a Kenyan-born Bollywood actress has taken it upon herself to make a difference. Nadia Abdi, also known as Nadia Queen, has launched a relief initiative to provide food and raise awareness about the pandemic.

With her organization, Tosha, Nadia has partnered with ASTA (Amazing Sports Talent Agency) to donate dry food stuffs to those in need. The initiative not only aims to feed the less fortunate but also educate them on the dangers of the pandemic and how to protect themselves.

On April 23, 2020, Nadia and her team were in Nairobi's Majengo area in Pumwani, where they made their first donations and held a public education event. The event was a huge success, with many people expressing gratitude for the initiative.

Hassan Faisal, a famous figure in Mombasa's entertainment scene and CEO of Coast Films, has commended Nadia for her good work. He has also called upon other entertainment stakeholders to emulate Nadia's efforts in helping to fight the virus.

"I am grateful for what I am seeing. Ringtone and Nonini, Nairobi-based artists, are spreading love to the less fortunate. We should all do the same during this period," Faisal noted.

Nadia has also called upon the youth to join her initiative, urging those who cannot donate to educate the old and those without proper knowledge on how to protect themselves against the pandemic.
