On April 23, 2020, Nairobi residents were set to enjoy easy shopping after Twiga Foods partnered with e-commerce firm Jumia to supply fresh produce within Nairobi and its environs.
The partnership enables shoppers to buy fresh fruits and vegetables in pre-packed bundles from the comfort of their homes, with Jumia providing free, same-day deliveries within Nairobi.
As a result of this collaboration, Jumia and Twiga Foods aim to grow their online commerce and food distribution businesses, contributing to a shift in the shopping experience in Nairobi and Kenya as a whole.
Twiga Foods, a fresh produce distributor, had recently received $5 Million (KSh 535 Million) funding from the United States International Development Finance Corporation to help improve food security in Kenya.
