On April 20, 2020, a woman in Kilifi County, Kenya, was left heartbroken after her husband of 12 years dumped her for a younger sidechiq.
The husband had been secretly sleeping with the sidechiq behind his wife's back, and despite her efforts to salvage their marriage, he had made up his mind to leave her.
The wife, desperate to save her marriage, sought out the sidechiq and warned her to stay away from her husband, but the mistress refused to leave and even threatened to become the only legal wife.
"I cannot leave him! If you do not know how to keep your hubby that we shall do it for you," the sidechiq said, leaving the wife feeling helpless.
Two days later, the husband packed his belongings and left his wife, leaving her to cry to her mother for help.
Her mother advised her to seek out Doctor Mugwenu, a traditional herbalist who claimed to have the power to restore her marriage through spell casting.
The wife visited Doctor Mugwenu, who cast a spell that would make her husband return to her and another that would make the sidechiq pay for ruining her marriage.
