Atletico Madrid Stuns Barcelona to Set Up All-Madrid Super Cup Final

January 10, 2020, marked a dramatic day in the Spanish Super Cup as Atletico Madrid pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Barcelona 3-2 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Barcelona dominated the first half, but Atletico Madrid's Koke scored just 21 seconds into the second half to give his team the lead. However, Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann soon turned the game around with two goals.

But Atletico Madrid refused to give up, and Alvaro Morata converted a penalty in the 81st minute to level the score. The winning goal came in the 86th minute, courtesy of Angel Correa.

"They had more legs than us and in the end it cost us," said Griezmann in a post-match interview.

Atletico Madrid's coach, Diego Simeone, praised his team's determination and spirit, saying, "It is important for the club, we beat the best attacking team in the world. You saw our bite, our belief, our desire. It's what this club is all about."
