Apple has launched a Night mode photo competition for iPhone users, offering a chance to win rewards and see their work showcased globally.

The competition is open to users of the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and Pro Max, with a deadline of January 29 for submissions.

Five winning photos will be selected and showcased in a gallery on Apple Newsroom and Apple Instagram, as well as in digital campaigns, at Apple Stores, on billboards, and in a third-party photo exhibition.

The iPhone 11 series, which features a best-in-class camera experience, offers major advancements in photography, including a breakthrough dual-camera system on the iPhone 11 and a triple-camera system on the iPhone 11 Pro.

Both models feature a new wide sensor with 100 per cent Focus Pixels, enabling Night mode and delivering low-light photos captured in indoor and outdoor environments.

According to Apple, users will retain the rights to their shared photographs, but by submitting their photo, they grant Apple a royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive license for one year to use, modify, publish, display, distribute, create derivative works from, and reproduce the photos on various Apple channels.

Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit, and users agree to grant Apple-exclusive commercial use of the photo for the life of the license.

For more information on how to use the iPhone 11 series on Night mode, see our guide below.

How to Use iPhone 11 Series on Night Mode

When using the iPhone 11 series, Night mode automatically comes on in low-light environments. If the yellow Night mode icon is showing, you're shooting with Night mode.

Tap on the Night mode icon on your iPhone, adjust the slider to Max to extend capture time. Night mode determines capture time based on the scene and displays.

For a longer capture time at the darkest time of night, try propping up your iPhone or using a tripod.
