President Magufuli Honors Diamond Platnumz ¶
On January 3, 2020, Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli made a rare appearance in the schedule of a head of state by calling Diamond Platnumz live during his homecoming concert in Kigoma.
The East African kingpin, Diamond Platnumz, was overwhelmed with gratitude and expressed his appreciation in a heartfelt message on social media.
"It was an absolute honor & great esteem to receive a call from our President Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, congratulating me on my work ethic whilst I was performing yesternight on my Home coming show in KIGOMA…", Diamond Platnumz wrote.
He continued, "Words simply cant describe how grateful & blessed I am for that Mr. President….Thank you for being a great Example and phenomenal Leader??????"
President Magufuli's gesture was seen as a rare display of appreciation for the hard work of a Tanzanian artist, and Diamond Platnumz was quick to acknowledge the honor.
"Shukran sana sana Mh Rais… Daima Nitaendelea kujituma na kuipigania sanaa yetu ili izidi kuleta Sifa na heshima Nchini lakini pia kuzalisha ajira zaidi kwa vijana wenzetu…..??", Diamond Platnumz promised to continue working hard and promoting Tanzanian art and culture.
