On December 20, 2019, the Kenya Roads Board published a tender notice inviting qualified firms to perform the role of Transaction Advisor and Lead Arranger for KSh 150 Billion financing.

The state corporation under the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works aims to oversee and coordinate road maintenance, rehabilitation, and development through optimal resource utilization for a sustainable Road Network.

According to the Kenya Roads Board, the County Allocation of Revenue Act 2018 and the Public Finance Management Act 2012 mandate the board to release road maintenance levy funds to counties every financial year as conditional grants.

Figures indicate that Nairobi County received Sh 415.8 Million as roads maintenance levy from the Kenya Roads Board for the 2019/20 financial year.

A pre-proposal conference will be held on January 7th, 2020, at the Kenya Roads Board Head Offices at Kenya Re Towers in Upper Hill, Nairobi. Proposals must be submitted not later than January 16th, 2020.
