On a sunny Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Nakuru ASK Showgrounds, Gaspo Women outplayed Wadadia 5-0 in their FKF Women Premier League playoff match.
Corazone Aquino's early attempts to score for Gaspo were narrowly missed, but the team's perseverance paid off when Mercy Airo skillfully passed the Wadadia defense to bag the lead goal in the 18th minute.
Elizabeth Wambui soon followed up with a goal in the 35th minute, assisted by Corazone Aquino, doubling Gaspo's lead.
Wadadia attempted to equalize, but their shots were thwarted by Gaspo's goalkeeper, Judith Osimbo, keeping the score at 2-0 at halftime.
After the break, Corazone Aquino scored Gaspo's third goal in the 53rd minute, and Elizabeth Wambui sealed her brace with a goal just a minute later.
As the match neared its end, Elizabeth Wambui completed her hat-trick with the fifth goal for Gaspo, securing a 5-0 win.
Meanwhile, in another match, Nakuru Queens edged past Ulinzi Starlets 2-2 (5-4) in post-match penalties, after Rebecca Okwaro opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Lucy Mukhwana equalized in the 25th minute.
Ulinzi Starlets took the lead again with Lucy Mukhwana's second goal in the 40th minute, but Nakuru Queens equalized in the 61st minute, forcing the match into penalties.
Noela Indikuli scored the winning goal for Nakuru Queens, securing their spot in the FKF Women Premier League playoff semifinals.
Gaspo and Nakuru Queens will now face off against Vihiga Queens and Thika Queens respectively in the playoff semifinals on Friday, June 25, 2021.
