As of December 13, 2019, persons with disabilities in Homa Bay County are urging Governor Cyprian Awiti to sign the Homa Bay County Persons With Disabilities Bill 2019.

The bill, approved by the county assembly, aims to improve the welfare of persons with disabilities by establishing the Homa Bay County Board for Persons with Disabilities.

According to Rockafeller Okeyo, chairperson of the Homa Bay County Forum for the Disabled Persons, and David Ochola, treasurer, the proposed law will formulate policies to enhance the well-being of persons with disabilities.
