Ulinzi Warriors stunned defending champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on Saturday, securing a 77-70 win in Game Four of the Kenya basketball Federation Premier League play-offs semi-final at Nyayo National Stadium.
This victory marked the end of KPA's title reign, as Ulinzi Warriors advanced to the final against Thunder.
Ulinzi Warriors had previously lost 3-0 to KPA last year but managed to turn the tables this season, winning Game Three 85-74 on Friday to take a 2-1 lead.
"We played according to plan, and knocking out KPA is a big step forward to reclaim the title that has eluded us since 2015. We shall work to correct mistakes before we meet Thunder," said Ulinzi coach William Balozi.
Ulinzi Warriors' Eric Mutoro led the charge with a game-high 28 points, while John Washika contributed 15 and Victor Bosire added 12.
Meanwhile, Thunder secured their first-ever final appearance by defeating newcomers Emyba 73-71 in Game Four, eliminating Emyba 3-1 in the best-of-five series semi-final.
Additionally, Terrorists were declared new league champions in the men's Division One final after defeating Pirates 3-1.
