On December 6, 2019, a terror attack in Wajir, Kenya, left 10 people dead, including seven police officers and a doctor.
The attack occurred when suspected Al-Shabaab militants ambushed a Mandera-bound bus between Kutulo and Wargadud area in Wajir County around 5:30 pm.
According to authorities, the bus was carrying 56 passengers at the time of the incident.
Wajir County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara stated that the officers, who belonged to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU), were on their way back to work when the Medina bus was ambushed.
Four people escaped the attack with minor injuries, with three of them being police officers and one a civilian.
