Kenya's sports teams made a strong impression at the East Africa Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Associations (EALASCA) Games in Kampala, Uganda, on Thursday, December 6, 2019.

The Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Associations (KICOSCA) team topped the chess competition with 23 points, followed closely by County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) and Kampala City Capital Authority (KCCA) with 19.5 and 16.5 points respectively.

Due to the absence of several countries, including Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, and South Africa, the EALASCA secretariat requested KICOSCA, KCCA, and CASA to form 'B' teams to increase the number of participating teams.

Kenya's CASA team made a statement by thrashing KCCA Councillors 5-0 to win their inaugural title in style. The KICOSCA team is now looking to emulate the MCAs when they meet Uganda.
