Kenyan musician Akothee has made a significant mark on the international scene, with her philanthropic efforts catching the attention of Italian media.
Over the past year, Akothee has dedicated a substantial part of her life to helping the drought-ravaged people of Turkana, a region in northwest Kenya.
Her efforts were featured in an interview piece by Italian reporter Stella Pende, published on November 30, 2019.
Akothee's manager, Nelson, took to social media to share videos of the interview, writing, “AKOTHEE Showing live on Italian international TV? interview by Stella Pende???????? I don’t know the plans God has for AKOTHEE but I know He has plans?,”
Despite her international breakthrough, Akothee is currently recovering after collapsing on stage while performing at the Luo Fest in Kisumu.
Her team has denied claims that she faked the incident for publicity, stating that she had gone into heavy activity despite being advised to rest after being discharged from hospital.
