Manchester City's recent run of one win in five games has left them 11 points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool, but manager Pep Guardiola insists that the team's confidence remains high.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw at Newcastle United on Saturday, Guardiola emphasized the need to analyze team performance rather than just focusing on results.
'You have to see how the players run, how far, how they try and the body language. We never give up. The team is always there, that is my feeling,' Guardiola told reporters.
Guardiola acknowledged that the result was not good for City, but he was pleased with the team's performance, saying 'I know it doesn’t count but I have to analyse the performance. The performance was good.'
City will look to get back on track when they visit Burnley on Tuesday, before Manchester United head to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
