On a rainy Saturday at the Den in Ruaraka, Kabras Sugar, the 2016 Kenya Cup champions, achieved a historic victory over defending champions Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), winning 19-6 in a match that was abandoned in the 60th minute due to the heavy downpour.
The win marked Kabras Sugar's first victory over KCB in their 12th meeting, with their previous best result being a 15-15 draw in 2016 at Kakamega.
Ugandan international prop Asuman Mugerwa scored a brace of tries, with fly-half Jone Kubu adding the extras for the 7-0 lead. Kabras Sugar went on to score three tries and two conversions, while KCB managed two penalties.
