Published on November 28, 2019, Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack has been awarded the Fidelity Insurance Coach of the Month Award for October.
The Briton guided K'Ogalo to three victories in three matches, beating Nzoia Sugar 2-0 and narrowly dispatching Zoo and Kariobangi Sharks each by a solitary goal.
At an award ceremony held at the team's training ground in Nairobi, Polack received a personalized plaque and Sh75,000 courtesy of the insurer.
"I'm humbled to receive a personal award for the team's performance in October. I have to thank them for putting in hard work because I would not have got it. It is encouraging during such tough times to be awarded," Polack said.
Polack's 100% record earned his team nine points, making him the top coach in the running for the October award, ahead of KCB coach Zedekiah Otieno who earned seven points from two victories and a draw.
Despite facing financial challenges after losing their shirt sponsors four months ago, Gor Mahia have continued to achieve great results on the pitch, a testament to the dedication of their players.
