Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has made headlines with his plans to spend at least three months in Africa next year, a move that has sparked excitement and curiosity about the continent's potential.

As part of a month-long tour across the continent, Dorsey recently concluded his trip in Ethiopia, where he met with entrepreneurs and tweeted about his plans to visit Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.

"Headed to Africa for all of November! Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. Going to spend a lot of time with entrepreneurs, including @betelhem_dessie @noelkudu @GETNETASEFFA!", Dorsey tweeted on October 4, 2019.

However, it was his November 27, 2019, tweet that generated the most buzz, as he announced that he would return to Africa for 3-6 months mid-2020, stating, "Sad to be leaving the continent…for now. Africa will define the future (especially the bitcoin one!). Not sure where yet, but I’ll be living here for 3-6 months mid 2020. Grateful I was able to experience a small part. ",

As the tech world continues to watch Dorsey's plans unfold, it's worth noting that he's not the only tech guru with a presence in Africa. Former Alibaba Group chairman Jack Ma was also in Ethiopia this week, signing an agreement to establish a new trade platform.
