Meet Philip Eling, an Australian man who has found love in the unlikeliest of places – Kenya. Philip, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, has been in a relationship with his Kenyan wife Susan Njogu for the past four years.

Philip and Susan's love story began in 2014 when they met in Australia. Susan was pursuing a diploma course on how to work and help differently-abled people, and Philip was one of the students she met during her studies.

When Susan first met Philip, she was taken aback by his confidence, and the connection between them was instant. Philip, however, was not sure if it would be easy to convince Susan's parents to accept him, but he decided to take a gamble.

Incidentally, Susan's parents gave Philip their blessings, and the couple went on to live their lives together. Philip recently celebrated four years of engagement with Susan, and he couldn't help but express his gratitude to God for making it possible for them to be together.

“Utakuwa bibi yangu (will you be my wife)? Today we are celebrating 4 years of engagement since I proposed on that evening 9/7/2017 in Swahili,” Philip recalled.

Philip says it was God's doing that Susan accepted him, and he is a proud husband, having married the love of his life. He has a message for everyone out there – believe in yourself and don't be afraid of the unknown.

“Now she is my beautiful darling wife… God is great. Believe in yourself,” Philip noted.
