Monica Kimani Murder: New Revelations Emerge in Nairobi Court

On November 27, 2019, four witnesses testified in a Nairobi court in the case against journalist Jacque Maribe and Joseph Irungu, also known as Jowie, for the murder of Monica Kimani.

According to the witnesses, Monica Kimani was living with a man identified as Yaseen in her Lamuria apartment, where she was found dead on September 19, 2018.

The witnesses included a gardener, a caretaker, a delivery official, and Jacque Maribe's friend, who testified that they had parted ways at 4am on the night of the murder, after visiting an entertainment joint with Irungu.

Regan Buluku, the gardener, was the first person to see Monica Kimani's body and described it as being in the bathtub with the tap running and candles around the bathtub.

Delivery executive Dennis Wanjala testified that he was sent to collect an item from Monica Kimani when she landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on the day of her murder.

Maribe's friend, Chelang'at Ruto, confirmed being with the journalist and Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on the night of the murder.

These new revelations come after DNA evidence was found on Monica Kimani's white hand straps, which belonged to an unidentified man.
