On November 27, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded at the Bomas of Kenya during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), as Dennis Itumbi was dragged off the presidential dais by security personnel.

Itumbi, dressed in a dark suit, was seen hanging in the background of President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who were all present at the event.

However, it is alleged that the Deputy President caught sight of the happenings but looked away.

As the drama began, Itumbi was approached by a security officer who gestured to him that he was an unwanted guest.

Itumbi and the officer appeared to disagree on the direction he should use to exit the stage, with the blogger insisting he needed to use the shortest exit available.

Shortly after, Itumbi was seen being dragged away from the stage in a less than honourable manner.

The incident comes three months after Itumbi was charged in court in connection with a fake letter alleging a plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
