Kenya: 2 Killed in Matatu-Truck Collision on Sotik-Keroka Road

On November 27, 2019, a devastating collision occurred on Sotik-Keroka road in Nyamira County, Kenya.

A matatu collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of two people, with the driver of the matatu dying at the scene and the other victim declared dead on arrival at St Clare's Kaplong Mission Hospital in Bomet County.

Eight others were injured in the incident and were initially taken to St Clare's Hospital before being transferred to Longisa Hospital for advanced treatment.

According to Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba, the total number of casualties was yet to be confirmed.

Officers from Bomet's Disaster Management Department responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 8:30 am.
