On Saturday, July 10, 2021, Moroccan football team Raja Club Athletic made history by winning the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup in Cotonou, Benin.

With a thrilling 2-1 victory over Algerian side JS Kabilye, Raja secured their second Confederation Cup title.

The match saw Soufiane Rahimi and Ben Malango score for Raja within the first quarter of an hour, giving their team a strong lead.

However, Kabilye fought back in the second half, with Mohamed Zakaria Boulahia halving the deficit just moments into the second half.

Despite being reduced to 10 men in the 62nd minute when Omar Arjoune was sent off for a high boot, Raja managed to hold on to their lead and secure the win.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco congratulated the team on their win, praising their honorable performance in a phone call with the club President.

"My sincere congratulations to the team for their honorable performance," said Mohammed VI.
