Christian Eriksen Rejects New Contract at Tottenham Amid Real Madrid Interest

Christian Eriksen, the 27-year-old Tottenham attacking midfielder, has reportedly rejected a new £150k-a-week contract deal at the Premier League side.

The Danish international's current contract at Tottenham is set to expire at the end of the season, prompting speculation about his future at the club.

According to reports, Eriksen is interested in making a move to Spanish side Real Madrid, which could lead to a potential transfer in January 2020.

Tottenham will have to sell Eriksen in January 2020 to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires.

Jose Mourinho, the new Tottenham head coach, has warned Eriksen that his future with the club will be decided based on his commitment to the team and his colleagues.

Mourinho, who took over at the club earlier this week, has also indicated that he will consider Eriksen's future when deciding whether to pick him for games this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes, who could potentially replace Eriksen if he leaves the club.

Reports also suggest that Spurs are looking at Ajax wonderboy Hakim Ziyech as a potential replacement for the Danish international.
