On Saturday, Equity Bank took a significant step towards the final of the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Premier League by defeating UON Dynamites 76-38 in Game Two of the semi-final playoffs series at Nyayo Gymnasium.
Belinda Okoth continued her impressive form, scoring 18 points for the Bankers, followed by Linda Alando with 12 points and Faith Atieno with 11 points for UON.
Equity Bank had already won Game One on Saturday with a 60-32 victory, and with this win, they now only need to win one game out of the three remaining to secure their place in the final.
Meanwhile, former champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) are also inching closer to the league final after defeating Storms 81-61 in Game Two of the semi-finals clash at the same venue a day after their 82-52 win in Game One.
Head coach Mike Opel expressed his satisfaction with the results, saying, 'The win gives us confidence, especially leading 2-0 away; the difference in points says a lot for the team mentality.'
Storms' Head coach Abel Nson conceded defeat, stating that KPA played their best and that they would work on their mistakes in the upcoming games.
