Kenya is set to experience five days of heavy rains, starting from Friday, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department.
Director Stella Aura warned on Thursday that the rains will continue into December, affecting various parts of the country.
Heavy rainfall is expected to occur over the northwest, highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, southeast lowlands, and the Coast, with the Lake Victoria basin and highlands west of the Rift Valley also expected to receive significant rainfall.
Ms. Aura noted that November is normally the peak month for the October-November-December (OND) short-rains season, and the already saturated grounds are likely to continue causing floods and landslides in affected areas.
She added that the rainy season will go on up to December but there will be dry spells within the season.
