On Friday evening, the General Service Unit (GSU) volleyball team secured a thrilling 3-1 win against Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League play-offs at the Moi Stadium indoor Arena in Kasarani.

The quartet of Cornelius Kiplagat, Cornelius Lagat, Bonfenture Wekesa, and Abiud Chirchir were instrumental in GSU's victory, showcasing their exceptional skills and teamwork.

Meanwhile, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) completed a double against Kenya Prisons, emerging victorious with a 3-1 win (25-21, 31-29, 29-27, 25-22).

GSU will face Kenya Prisons on Saturday, while KPA will take on KDF in the next match.

Kenya Ports Authority's experienced trio of David Thuita, James Ontere, and Enock Mogeni played a crucial role in their team's success, delivering powerful spikes and outmaneuvering their opponents.

Prisons' coach David Lungaho made a strategic move by resting setter Kevin Kipkosgei and introducing Daniel Kiptoo, but it was not enough to turn the tide in their favor.

Despite a strong comeback by Prisons, KPA's introduction of Enock Mogeni in place of James Ontere proved to be the turning point, as they took the third set 29-27 and secured a 2-1 set lead.

The fourth set was a closely contested affair, with both teams trading points until KPA opened a two-point lead and never looked back, ultimately winning the set 25-22.
