On November 21, 2019, the body of Eric Oloo, a 40-year-old journalist, was discovered in the house of Chief Inspector Sabina Kerubo in Uhor village, Ugunja, Siaya County.

According to eyewitnesses, Oloo had been living with Kerubo and her teenage daughter for the past two years, and the couple had been involved in a love triangle with two brothers.

The brothers, who were regular visitors to the house, allegedly attacked Oloo in a scuffle, leaving him with deep cuts on his forehead, mid-section, and the back of his head.

Neighbours reported hearing a commotion but did not intervene, and it is still unclear how or whether the brothers left the house or what time Oloo died.

Chief Inspector Kerubo and her lover, a chef, were arrested by police after they were found in a taxi in Ugunja town, and the house girl and Kerubo's teenage daughter were also taken in for questioning.

Siaya County police Commander Francis Kooli said the couple had been living together for two years and that the police fraternity was shocked by the incident.

Investigations are ongoing, with detectives from the county headquarters taking over the case to avoid interference.
