Kenya Defence Forces Team Manager Alfred Chedotum is confident that his team is ready to face any opposition in the National Volleyball League play-offs, which kick off at Kasarani Gymnasium on December 1, 2018.

Chedotum believes the team has matured and gained experience, making them equal to the task of facing any team in the country.

‘Though it has always been a challenge to balance between the game and military duties, I think this team has now come of age; the players have gained a lot of experience and they are now matured,’ Chedotum told Standard Sports on November 21, 2019.

Chedotum also expressed confidence in the team's ability to beat record champions General Service Unit, citing their previous win against Kenya Prisons in the opening play-offs match last season.

‘We have prepared very well and everybody is ready for the play-offs. So, let our police rivals be ready because we are going to disarm them,’ Chedotum said.

Despite the absence of setter Joel Sato, who has been redeployed to other military duties, Chedotum is optimistic that the team will do well, citing the return of middle blocker Benard Wechuli and attacker Micah Lagat from military training.

‘We are confident we will do well. One thing I’m sure of is that we will improve on our last year’s performance and position,’ Chedotum said.
