Nakuru Chopper Crash: Pilot Under Influence of Alcohol at Time of Accident

On October 21, 2019, a helicopter carrying Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika's communication team crashed into Lake Nakuru, resulting in the loss of five lives.

According to a report released by Transport CS James Macharia on November 20, 2019, the pilot was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The victims included captain Apollo Malowa, Anthony Kipyegon, Sam Gitau, John Mapozi, and Veronicah Muthoni.

A memorial service was held for the victims on February 10, 2018, at the Lake Nakuru National Park.
