Published on November 19, 2019, Kenya Police are seeking to end the Hockey Premier League season on a high with focus on securing a second spot after missing out on the league title.
Butali Sugar Warriors bagged the championship at the weekend, courtesy of a 2-0 win over Wazalendo, which saw them retain the crown. Kenya Police, currently third on the 10-team log with 29 points, hopes to pip second-placed Wazalendo on 33 points to finish as runners-up.
Police Head coach Patrick Mugambi attributed this season's flaws to the departure of former players Amos Barkibir and Calvins Kanu, who decamped to Butali at the beginning of the season.
With the second team earning an automatic qualification for next year's Africa Club for Club Championships, Mugambi believes his side has not lost everything yet.
Kenya Police take on relegation-threatened Parklands on Saturday, and their match against Wazalendo on December 1 will determine who will finish second.
