Kenya's top KCPE candidate, Andy Michael Munyiri of Damacrest School, Thogoto, has made history by scoring 440 marks out of a possible 500 in the 2019 KCPE examinations.

Published on November 18, 2019, the results show that three students, Flavian Onyango, June Cheptoo, and Michael Ndungu, shared the second position with 439 marks.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha announced the results in Nairobi, stating that a total of 1,083,456 candidates sat for this year's exams, with 543,000 being male and the rest female.

Prof Magoha noted that 9,770 candidates scored 400 marks, a drop from the 11,559 candidates who achieved that threshold last year.

While the performance improved in four out of seven subjects, including English, Kiswahili, Kenya Sign Language, and Social Studies, there was a slight drop in Mathematics.

Boys outperformed girls in Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, while girls excelled in English, Kiswahili, and Kenya Sign Language.

Parents, candidates, and the public can now access the results instantly by sending the candidate's name, followed by 'KCPE' in capital letters, to 20076.
