On November 14, 2019, a shooting occurred at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California, approximately 65 kilometers north of Los Angeles.

According to the local sheriff's department, the incident was an active shooter situation, with a suspect described as a male Asian wearing black clothing still on the run.

Police and ambulances swarmed the area, and the city of Santa Clarita confirmed that there were multiple victims injured in the early-morning shooting.

Police spokesman Bob Boese stated that there were at least three victims, but cautioned that it was unclear if all victims had been located.

Our deputies are doing a systematic search of the campus, still looking for the suspect, Boese said, adding that one weapon had been recovered.

Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were among those responding to the scene.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's department warned residents to stay clear of the area, advising those living near Saugus High to lock their doors and stay inside.
