On Tuesday, a 17-year-old Form Three student was found dead in a farm in Karira village, Kirinyaga County.
A relative discovered the lifeless body of the student, identified only as Githinji, and alerted the police.
Police boss Dolly Oduor said that the student did not leave behind a suicide note, making it difficult to determine the reason behind his death.
However, investigations have been commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the student's death.
Ms Oduor lamented that cases of suicide were on the rise in the area, with even children taking their own lives.
