On November 12, 2019, Drake made a surprise appearance at Tyler The Creator's annual Camp Flog Gnaw Festival in Los Angeles, but his performance was met with a crowd that was not receptive to his music.

According to reports, the crowd was expecting Frank Ocean to perform, and when Drake took the stage instead, they were not pleased.

Drake attempted to win over the crowd by announcing that he had come for his fans and would continue to perform if they wanted him to, but the crowd's response was clear: they did not want him.

As the booing started, Drake gave in and sent the crowd love, concluding his performance by saying, 'Well look its been love, I go by the name Drake and thank you for having me.'

Tyler The Creator later took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the situation, saying, 'I THOUGHT BRINGING ONE OF THE BIGGEST ARTIST ON THE FKING PLANET TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS FIRE! BUT FLIPSIDE, A LIL TONE DEAF KNOWING THE SPECIFIC CROWD IT DREW.'
