Published on November 11, 2019, AFC Leopards left back Isaac Kipyegon has apologized to Ingwe fans for the disappointing result they registered in yesterday’s Mashemeji derby where they fell 4-1 in the hands of arch-rivals Gor Mahia at Kasarani.
The 26-year-old defender, who joined the team last year, has however assured that the team will bounce back against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa after the international break on November 21.
After the weekend win, Gor Mahia top the league on 18 points while Leopards dropped drastically to seventh on 15 points.
Isaac Kipyegon expressed his apology to the fans, stating, “We are so sorry to all our fans for the disappointing display and result. We know they are hurting but I want to assure them that we will bounce back immediately.”
He attributed the loss to lack of concentration in the first half, saying it greatly contributed to their inability to convert the several chances they created.
“We did not utilize the chances we had in the first half and in the second half we were nervous after we conceded the first goal through set-piece,” Kipyegon lamented.
