Two Killed, 10 Injured in Nairobi-Mombasa Highway Accident

Published on November 10, 2019, two people lost their lives in a tragic accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

A 14-seater matatu collided head-on with a lorry at Kapiti downhill, a few kilometres from Makutano, after the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle.

According to Machakos County Emergency Services Director David Mwongela, the injured were taken to Machakos Level Five Hospital for treatment.

Separately, on the same day, one person died and 32 others were injured in an accident involving a bus at Salama town on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan confirmed that the bus, which was heading to Nairobi from Mombasa, attempted to overtake other vehicles before ramming into an oncoming trailer.
