On November 10, 2019, American Airlines Flight 807 from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Salt Lake City, Utah, was diverted to Tulsa International Airport after a disturbing incident.

A passenger, identified as E.J, was seated in the middle row with her daughter on one side and James Clayton Cholewinski-Boy on the other. According to E.J's complaint, Cholewinski-Boy initially touched her arm, but she pushed his hands away.

However, Cholewinski-Boy then allegedly 'forcibly grabbed her by the crotch.' E.J again pushed his hands away, and in response, Cholewinski-Boy tossed his hands in the air and said 'sorry.'

Notifying the flight crew, E.J and her daughter were moved to another seat before the pilot diverted the flight. Cholewinski-Boy was arrested upon arrival at Tulsa International Airport and charged with abusive sexual contact.

He was later released on his own recognizance. American Airlines praised the quick actions of their crew, stating, 'The quick actions of our crew ensured the safety and wellbeing of our customers on the flight.'
